Paul A. Sanchez, MD
Dr. Sanchez graduated from the University of New Mexico Summa cum laude, with a degree in biochemistry. He earned a master’s degree in Healthcare Improvement at the Dartmouth Institute and his Doctorate of Medicine at Dartmouth Medical School. He did an internship at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas where he was selected Intern of the Year across all medical specialties. He then completed an Ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He was born and raised in Albuquerque and joined Southwest Eyecare Specialists in 2007. He is passionate about the future of healthcare and has served as President of both the Greater Albuquerque Medical Association and the New Mexico Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Sanchez has publications in leading medical journals and has engaged in both basic science and clinical research for over 25 years. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Sanchez enjoys fly-fishing, skiing, world travel and most of all spending time with his wife and three children.
