Southwest Eye Care Specialists is a well-established, anterior segment focused ophthalmology practice in the sunny southwest. The practice is housed in a large 11,000 + square foot building and currently has 1 comprehensive ophthalmologist, 2 cornea specialists, 1 oculoplastics, and 1 corneal fellow. The practice has well trained staff and state-of-the-art equipment (Lenstar, B-scan, A-scan, UBM, Pentacam, YAG, SLT, Argon Laser, Spectral Domain OCT, Humphrey Visual Field, Clarus fundus camera, Wavescan, Visx S4 Excimer Laser, and uses Nextech MDI EHR).

Our multi-specialty Ophthalmology Clinic in beautiful NE Albuquerque seeks a full-time or part-time Optometrist. We are looking for someone who will coordinate patient care with our on-site Ophthalmologists for the best outcome.

POSITION: Optometrist

JOB TYPE: Full-time or Part-time

SALARY: Competitive salary with Bonus structure

SCHEDULE:
  • 10 hour shift
  • Day shift

LOCATION: In person

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
  • Optometry License (Required)
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Actively licensed Optometrist
  • Current and active malpractice insurance
  • Current CPR and BLS.
POSITION INCLUDES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
  • Collecting information about the patients’ medical history and current symptoms
  • Performing detailed eye examinations to detect vision defects and eye abnormalities, injuries or diseases
  • Monitor and manage the patient’s eye and vision issue during and after a visit
  • Offering patients advice about their eyes or vision-related challenges
  • Prescribe eyeglasses
  • Recommend appropriate patient follow-up care options
  • Conduct post operative examinations
  • Work closely with Ophthalmologists and healthcare professionals for coordinated patient care
