Dr.
John J. Teahan is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist and a member
of many prestigious professional associations including the
American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of
Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He is the past President of
the New Mexico Ophthalmologic Society.
Dr. Teahan specializes in refractive and cataract surgery. He is certified
by VISX®, the leader in laser technology for vision correction.
In addition, he was the first doctor in New Mexico to perform
the non-laser procedure called INTACS in August 1999.
Having had refractive surgery performed on his own eyes, Dr. Teahan believes strongly in the benefits to those who are candidates.
After attending Boston College for his premedical studies, he completed his medical school training at Tufts University. He performed his Ophthalmology training at Bethesda Naval Hospital and Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Dr. Teahan served in the United States Air Force for eight years and was Chief of Ophthalmology at Kirtland AFB before going into private practice in 1991.
Dr. Teahan recently received a grant from the Dept. of Energy to further perfect vision correction technology.

Dr. Paul Sanchez completed his undergraduate degree in biochemistry Summa Cum Laude at the University of New Mexico. He then received his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School, as well as his Masters degree from Dartmouth College. Following an internship at John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas, he completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
Dr. Sanchez also participated in the Minority Medical Education Program at Yale Medical School. After Hurricane Katrina, he assisted in the relief effort, providing emergency medical care to evacuees.
Dr. Sanchez is published in several medical journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of the American Medical Association and the Journal of Neurochemistry.
Dr. Paul Sanchez practices general, clinical and surgical ophthalmology at Southwest Eyecare. He lives in Albuquerque with his wife and three daughters.

A well known and respected ophthalmologist, Dr. Joe Cannon's
reputation is based on over 30 years of contributions to ophthalmology
in New Mexico.
Dr. Cannon graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine
in New Orleans. Following a general surgery internship, he
completed a 2 year tour with the United States Public Health
Service in Washington, DC. After a residency in Ophthalmology
at the University of Indiana, he completed dual fellowships
in Neuro ophthalmology at the University of Utah and the University
of California.
Voted as one of the best doctors in America, Dr. Cannon is
a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member
of the Pan American Ophthalmologic Society.
In addition to his professional accomplishments here, Dr.
Cannon has a long time interest in medical missionary work
and is a consultant to a hospital and clinic in Sucre, Bolivia.

After receiving his medical degree from the University of
Tennessee, Dr. Beaudette completed an internship at the University
of California, and then served as a Flight Surgeon in the
USAF. He received his specialty training in ophthalmology
at the Mayo Clinic. As part of this training, Dr. Beaudette
was a fellow at the Guinness Eye Institute at Amadu Bello
University in Nigeria. Dr. Beaudette continued his military
commitment in the Air Force Reserves and attained the rank
of Colonel.
Dr. Beaudette has been in private practice in Albuquerque
since 1977. In addition to his practice, Dr. Beaudette currently
serves as the Secretary/
Treasurer of the New Mexico Medical Society, and the representative
for the National Academy of Ophthalmology for New Mexico,
Colorado, and Utah.
In his career, Dr. Beaudette has held many positions of leadership
including serving as the President of the New Mexico Medical
Society.
Dr. Beaudette has also been Chief of Ophthalmology at Presbyterian,
St. Joseph, Kirtland Air Force Base and the VA Hospitals.

Dr. Randy Black, MD is a life-long resident of Albuquerque. He is a graduate of the University of New Mexico with a degree in chemistry, following which he attended the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. In Tucson, Arizona he completed a General Surgery internship, moving to Memphis, Tennessee for his Ophthalmology residency. He completed a fellowship in Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery before returning to Albuquerque to establish practice in 1984.
His practice provides general ophthalmic care, but also provides specialized skills in Oculoplastic surgery. This focuses on the surgical and medical care of trauma, tumors, congenital abnormalities, and tearing problems.
Dr. Black has been acknowledged as one of Albuquerque's "Top Docs" for the last two years in Albuquerque Magazine.
